Welcome to the New York Jazz Workshop music school. Since 2008, we have been providing exceptional music education to students of all ages. Our music school is conveniently located in midtown Manhattan, near Times Square, offering a prime location for music enthusiasts eager to explore and expand their knowledge of jazz, and other musical styles. Our philosophy centers on musicianship and creativity. We provide you with the tools and information necessary to confidently play any music style and develop your own sound.

Our faculty includes highly qualified instructors from leading conservatories and universities, including NYU, The New School, Columbia University, Manhattan School of Music, and Juilliard. These educators stand out for their dual roles: they are not only experts in teaching music but also active participants in the global music industry as touring musicians with extensive recording experiences. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced musician, our offerings are tailored to support your journey. Weekly Workshops: These ongoing sessions cater to adult music students aged 17 and up. Under the guidance of renowned musicians, participants can collaborate with peers at their level to master the art of live music performance in an ensemble. Ensembles work on various genres such as: Bebop, Brazilian Music, Blues, Jazz Standards, Improvisation and much more.

Courses: Offered online, these classes are live as well as  recorded so that if you miss a class you can easily catch up. Topics covered include composition, ear training, music theory, counterpoint, classical music, music history, and more. Contact us for start dates.

Private Lessons: For individuals looking to enhance their proficiency in a particular instrument or vocal performance, private lessons at the New York Jazz Workshop, recognized as one of the best music schools in the city, present a perfect opportunity. We offer an extensive array of instructors for all instruments, guaranteeing that private lessons—whether held in person at our midtown studio, within the teacher’s studios across the city, or online—maintain the highest standards of excellence.

Music Summer Intensives: These are 3 to 4 full-day music classes on specific subjects such as improvisation, Brazilian music, Guitar Mastery, Piano Playing, Bebop, Singing, and more. Students come from all over the world for a music-full immersion in the big apple and to meet our extraordinary faculty.

International Music Intensives: The international music intensives are retreats abroad where students and faculty spend time together playing, performing, and exploring the host country. We have been traveling to Italy for the last five years and have just returned from Brazil. Check out the music scene that develops on those exclusive music retreats.

Teen Camp: This 4-day experience in New York City is designed for teens aged 11 to 16. With guidance from NYC professionals, music students will deepen their understanding of jazz theory, ear training, and ensemble playing, applicable across all music styles. This is the perfect opportunity for teenagers to make connections with other teens and play together.

Team Building: In addition to music education and programs, we offer team-building experiences to companies of all sizes and shapes.
