The New York Jazz Workshop is proud to announce the formation of the NYJW Saxophone Quartet taught by Marc Mommaas.
The Saxophone Quartet is a great avenue to build technique, develop a full sound, improve reading skills, develop improvisation skills, strengthen your tuning and above all to have fun playing some amazing arrangements. You can expect arrangements from from Jazz artists such as Charles Mingus, Yusef Lateef, Lennie Niehaus, Hubert Blake, Dave Bramely, Nick Ayoub and Ralph Martino. Styles will be mixed up and includes classical four part arrangements (Bach, Piazolla and much more). This is a very special group and we do venture out in the world to perform. Get ready for a fantastic experience. Like the other ensembles this group will be performing at jazz venues in NYC!
